In today’s time, it is considered to be good fortune if you have a job and that too a job, which has not yet cut your pay, forget getting a bonus. Jobs from almost any profession seem hard to come by and very well qualified people, with years of experience seem to be eroding the soles of their shoes once again, looking for the all elusive job.
Software engineers, who were the toast of the country a few years ago are now having a rough time. The global financial meltdown has led to complete downsizing and now with Europe also into recession, more global job cuts are on the anvil. But in the midst of all this gloom, seeing an opportunity when all are seeing a dead end is the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). This institute states that due to the global meltdown and slowdown affecting the country, the profession of accounting would take lead in ensuring financial discipline at all levels of management.
Infact the demand for Chartered Accountants (CAs) is expected to go up as they can guide and take the lead in ensuring financial discipline to the profession of accounting. Right now, more than the IT professionals, it would be those in the accounting and equity research profession, which would be jobless. And such motivating talks could only probably help lift the spirits but not ensure jobs.
thanks
