Talk about Indians working abroad, then almost invariably, IT professionals hunched over computers and labourers toiling away on construction sites come to mind. But now, looks like, there is one more field in which the Indians are making a name for themselves. In helping developing cars! And that too helping develop Japanese cars, which are amongst the superior cars manufactured today.
Around 50 Indian engineers are working in the development of Toyota’s compact car slated to be launched in India by Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) two years from now. The new compact car is currently under development at Toyota’s R&D in Japan with significant contribution from Indian engineers. The company plans a sedan and a hatchback in the proposed compact car.
