Call it monsoon discounts or the effect of the rising fuel prices which has impacted demand, most of the major car makers are now trying to lure customers back into the showroom with hefty discounts.
Monsoon is usually a lean period of the car makers as people usually do not buy their cars in the rains and prefer to wait it out for the festival season, which typically follows after the monsoon. This is the cyclical trend of the sector, nothing new here. But what is new this time is that the rising prices of petrol and diesel has now forced companies to kick start the sagging demand, which, as per some dealers, is lower than usual. Maruti’s Alto and Zen Estilo compact cars are now available with a price waver of up to Rs 52,000 while Mahindra Renault Logan discount goes up to Rs 55,000.
